Well we gave away our first 4 Day 3 Night Bahamas Cruise at The Brewery Thunderdome last night and still have one more to give away tonight! Follow the instructions on the “Welcome” page and get registered quick. You only have until 7 PM.
Check this out – BEER SPECIALS appeared last night. Now we are really rocking in The Ville! The party was great and if you weren’t there you lost out on a great time.
I spent most of the night on the Moon Deck listening to a very young band called “Leaving the Garden”. They are just starting to leave the garage and I could certainly tell they were very nervous. This is not uncommon with young bands just getting started especially when they are playing at a venue with the history and reputation of Thunderdome.
I think what impressed me the most was the band (I don’t think their oldest member was above the age of 19) didn’t just sing cover music, they actually had originals they had composed themselves. They did a much better job with their originals than with the cover stuff and their style reminded me of the Black Crows. The lead singer really tried hard but needs to remember the microphone and sound system are suppose to do the voice projection for you. He was trying hard to project his voice into the crowd and at one point I went inside and asked the Sound Engineer to come out and adjust the sound to compensate for his efforts. By the third or fourth song of each set he had blown his vocals which made it difficult to sing the ranges (which were on the edge of his abilities anyway) some of the songs required. Again, I attribute this to the nervousness and lack of actual experience outside of Mom & Dad’s basement. In time that will change.
All in all I feel if they stick together and keep writing new songs Louisville will have another winner of a Rock Band in their city.
I can’t wait to see what the deck brings tonight!

According to this single release by the rock band “Tiernan” in Tokyo Japan he very well could be.
It seems this song is getting plenty of airtime in Japan and is gaining popularity on a continuing basis. It was submitted to me this week by the band who heard about us through Westfield Recording Company in Ironton, OH. I thought it was a little controversial but we will let the listeners decide that.
Along with “The End Of The World” I received 2 other singles from them that aren’t as bold as this one. I must admit that even though their lyrics are a little on the eccentric side, the instrumentals, beat and vocals are rather good. I took the liberty of taking their Bio directly off their website ao I thought I would paste it in this article for you to read…
TIERNAN:
Songwriter Laurier Tiernan wins awards and gets airplay on CBC radio and television in Canada, then moves to Japan. In the ensuing gigging, he hooks up with ex-U.S. Navy bassist Devin Wine. After a month of tearing it up as a duo in front of faithful audiences and English football hooligans, they welcome drummer Toru Hirasawa into the fold. An acclaimed jazz drummer, praised by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Toru is also an earnest student of Elvis Costello and Nirvana. Together, they cut a four song demo, the North American press dive in, and the demo’s last song, “The End of the World,” enters regular rotation on InterFM 76.1 in Tokyo; “Tokyo’s No.1 music station” (sic), as well as on over 116 other radio stations worldwide.
I wrote the band today and asked a few questions pertaining to the origin of the song and a little background. I haven’t gotten a response as of yet but will post exactly what they have to say just as soon as I receive it.
While we are waiting on the bands response to my questions take a few minutes to listen to the song and place your comments on this post. I loaded it as a podcast to make it easier for all of us.
Simple questions to ask yourself may include; Is this really a band from Tokyo as they state they are or is this a ploy by the Democratic Party to influence voters opinions of the Repulican Party? LOL…
Your comments please…
